FYI = The Lovely Lucy gave me the go-ahead for this type of character. I apologize profusely to the Mods and the Sorting Hat who have to read this. To make it easier, let me begin by saying this is a Multiple Personality Character.

player information!

preferred name ; Well something nice instead of muttered under the breath would be REALLY nice like, um, Wes? Shava? Yeah one of those.
age ; Horsehockey, you just want to see me type it. Forty. There.
how you prefer to be contacted ; Cbox. I almost live there. PM me at Shava if I'm not ;)
characters you already play ; Odin, Miles, Sierra, and Olivia. Crazy old fart is a regular personality, not a character I play. ;)

character information!

the basics
character name ; Art Rainy Isaacs (This is the birth name, but since he has three different personalities, there are others. They have all learned it's easier just to answer to any of them.)
nickname(s) ; Adiar, Andy/Andrew
age ; Thirteen
date of birth ; Feb 4th, 1996
blood status; pure blood, part veela
sexual orientation ; straight, gay, bi - Yes I left this on purpose
wand ; 7 inches, Black Walnut, sphinx tail hair
affiliation ; Neutral

the appearance
height & weight ; Art is four foot eleven yet his slimness has the odd effect of making him look slightly bean-pole. At one hundred and five pounds, this exaggerated slimness is a major feature noticed right off. Even when he wears extra baggy clothes, he still looks tall and slim so he has given up trying methods to change his look. He's hoping that his first growth spurts will change this issue.

hair ; Art's hair started a very pale blond and curly when he was younger, although as he has grown older it has gone straight and is starting to turn into a dirty blond. The most interesting part is not the look, like most people's, but the feel. The texture is like silk and is so surprising to feel that most people find it hard to stop touching it. All his body hair is the same, soft and silky. Only Art is really happy about this fact and the reactions he gets from girls.

eyes ; Art's eyes are his second most noticed feature after his body type. He has eyes so deep blue they often appear black. They have a deep and older look to them, as if he was on his second life and was wise to the tricks of the past. A lot of girls even in the older years talk to him just so they can look into his eyes which seem to fascinate them. Once again, while Adiar finds this annoying and Andrew is amused, only Art really likes this and uses it to his advantage.

facial features ; Art has somewhere between an oval and circular face, his skin fairly pale white and unblemished. No freckles and no moles, but he does have a major difference when the Andrew persona is in charge; a characteristic blank look which gives him a very haunted face. Some might think this points to Andrew as being emotionless, but he's really just better at concealing his feelings. Faking them, now, none of them are good at that.

distinguishing features ; One very surprising feature is his toes; their webbed. Although there is no known history of inbreeding in his family or any magical influence detectable, there is slight evidence of them having been between his fingers. When he asked his mom about this, she told him she had cursed those off, but had been too afraid to do it to his toes. But, they make swimming way easier so Andrew insists they keep them.

style ; Art has yet to find a particular style that suits him besides 'relaxed.' The issue, obviously, is that each personality has it's own ideas about what they should be wearing. Andrew prefers dressing up with fine materials and tailoring to his clothes as he knows he looks good and wants clothing to match. Adiar doesn't give a flip about the fit, but he loves layering and color matching, especially as he believes blues bring out the color in his eyes. And Art likes sweats all the time since he works out a lot and finds fitted clothes to be too tight for his movements. By common disagreement this means they end up with loose, relaxed clothes (like Ts and jeans) in greys and blacks which none of them are particularly happy with.

play by ; Paul Butcher

Notes ; There are two physical things that should be mentioned here. One is that physically (and one would almost think thank god) Art doesn't require much sleep, maybe as many as four hours a night being plenty. This fortunate thing allows each of his personalities at least a fourth of a day in charge which stops a lot of crankiness and internal fights over the matter.

Second, Art's issue with being able to use magic on living creatures seems to be a genetics thing. In the family records are stories of this having happened before, on an average of once every ten generations or so. Suspicion on the point of view of others in the past is that an Enchanter was crossed into the family lines which might account for it. Enchanters are a rare type of wizard or witch whose advantages in magic all come from working with items and creating magical things rather then casting spells (no wands work for them). If this is true, it would explain why he can get charms to work twice as well on a box, but mess up every spell he tries on a bug. There are no known Enchanters in the last few decades, although the possibility of one in the future does rest in the family genetics.

Since this character has three separate personalities, this section was moved into a separate post and separated out for ease of reading. Sorry for the confusion.

the school life
year ; third
pet ; An Funky Fluorescent Frog
favorite subject ; Charms. For some reason his spells always work far more powerfully when the spell effects inanimate objects. Thus, charms spells are all most powerful for him and often work with far better effects then originally intended.
worst subject ; Herbology. Since it involves living things, nearly everything he does in the class (except written tests and knowledge tests) go awry and fail with sometimes very unusual results.
best spell ; Summoning Charm. With inanimate spells working so well for him, it was a quick discovery early on that this spell could be quite dangerous for him to cast as demonstrated in one class. When asked to demonstrate the spell or the first time as an example and he got it right in one, the book he was supposed to be getting flung itself pel mel through the space and forcefully to his hands knocking over two desks in the process. He has not been asked to set examples in Charms since that time.
worst spell ; Tarantallegra. When casting it, his victims never dance, but things around them do; stools, tables, even an inkwell once. Living things are like his anti-matter.

OWLs taking and grades ;

  • Charms
  • Defense Against the Dark Arts

history ;
On Feb 4th, little Art came into the world in the Isaacs family. There was much joy and laughter over his arrival and the family (fairly warm and close) accepted him as theirs quite easily, not knowing of the rough times ahead. The next few days were filled with a lot of ooo's and ah's and happy baby sounds. A satisfied and very complete family continued on their way through life, living and learning. During this time Art grew fast, sleeping in small amounts and keeping his parents awake long hours; as with most baby-of-the-family, he was doted on by his mother in particular. The other siblings began to take turns playing with and entertaining their new brother to give their parents a break whenever they could and or the most part it helped a lot. Art was drawn to colors and people, although he avoided playing with toys being more fascinated with fingers and adults. Bath time was always a favorite time for him, running water through his hands and enjoying the silly sounds you could make with it.

As he grew older, he played with his family, (especially his older sisters) and was fairly responsible. Since father was often off at working for the Ministry, he tried (although as most kids he didn't do it really well) to help by setting the table and trying his hand at chores around the house, but he was remembered more for the funny thing he did as a kid then for these more serious moments. Few realized these were early signs of a very rare medical condition that the wizarding world rarely had dealt with, only a tiny handful of cases in nearly fifty years. In muggles, DID was a very tough disease causing many problems and issues and fought with many drugs and behavioral treatments. St Mungo's, however, found itself at a loss. Instead of the regular muggle version, Art's magic had worked it's way into his disease and made it change becoming stronger, more permanent, and vastly different from other versions. Art's personalities shared memory, fought for control, and developed very strong differences in skills, attitudes, and life goals. They were not only aware of each other, but watched through the current 'drivers' senses as they wanted, often critically evaluating how badly they each did.

Art, unfortunately, became more then just a child with issues, but a set of triplets in one body constantly arguing and feuding. It was when he turned seven that his parents first took him in to be checked up on and it was several weeks before the Healer's had a firm grasp on what was happening, just no idea how to fight it. Because he was better at home then at the hospital, they brought him in every other week for a sleep-over, trying out new tests, new potions, and to give others a chance to interact with him. They began to write a Manual on the boy's treatment schedule to better be prepared the next time something like this happened. Unfortunately, when trying out new things, sometimes mistakes happen and the potion they tried which had sounded so good, actually made the situation more permanent, fixing the personalities not only more on their own separate being, but also far harder to use magic upon as well. Three different personalities arose, each with different perspectives on what was happening and where things were going. And that was when the healer's made their second biggest, and maybe most debilitating mistake, they came to the tentative conclusion that Art was the original person inside.

With this horrible error, although logical and quite understandable, they began to try and treat one of the newer personalities instead of the original which invalided every decision they made due to incorrect conclusions. For five year they labored on, each potion or treatment they tried not succeeding simply because they were trying to turn a secondary personality back to it's original state. Several of the things they tried might have worked if they had tried it on another, but it is now lost in the years of files which have gone from folders to a drawer and recently to it's own filing cabinet. At the same time, the years have allowed the three distinct personalities to settle in and become more solid so that these same solutions would no longer work. A recent comment by one of the frustrated healers about how they should just try to turn them into triplets was overheard by Art and now it's his fantasy dream since it would solve everything. Unfortunately, such a thing has not been possible in all this time. He has been the drinker of many potions over the years and has become familiar with some very rare potion's tastes because of this; the green fuzzy-tasting one from his eighth year the one and only good tasting one.

The family has gotten used to the solitary bickering and odd behavior, although sometimes it is rough on everyone. After all, seeing a kid speaking in a different accent and being in a flaming row with himself and then breaking down into emotional tears is hard; Ianto has held him twice during these where Art whispered 'am I ever going to get better?' He knows others think he's sick and mental, he sees it on sympathetic faces as well as fearful ones. Over the years, as much as they dislike each other, the 'boys' know they are likely to only ever have each other for company. Maybe that's why The Agreement has worked out at Hogwarts so well. Mother tried to as much as she could, keeping the boy as happy as she could, even holding him during the nightmares and severe fits. Family is good and close (even Taylor who he rarely sees tries to treat him with love), but they don't see the inside things, the muttered comments. This has made it hard or the other two as Andrew has become paranoid over time and now trusts very few family at all. As he grown up through the pre-teen years, the Healer's trips have been handled by just about all the family taking him in turns to spread out the work. At home they get used too different reactions and someone got him a button which when tapped with his wand changed to the name of the current personality. This has become a real habit and a lifesaver or people who know him who quickly get in the habit of looking first before they speak.

Over all they were very fearful about his time at Hogwarts as he got ready or school; after all, who would take care of him like family did? Who would understand his issues and what to do to help him through them as they happened? Home was a safe environment unlike school and other children, who they were all aware, could be quite cruel. They prepared as best they could and made special efforts to make sure the school was aware of what would need to be done to deal with these problems. The parents packed his trunk with distractions, aware that any item could make a huge difference in how the year passed until he could adjust. They watched tearfully after the train left and those that went to the station stood and hugged their parents in a group hug, each silently hoping for the best. The first few day were extremely rough and made him very few friends; indeed, the family's fears were made true as he was picked on and began to be avoided after a few hallway incidents. But the classes were astonishing to him! Andrew adored Flying and Defense against the Dark Arts, Adair loved History and Astronomy, and Art was fairly ecstatic over Charms and Transfiguration. At the end of the first week, he found a quiet corner in a deserted classroom and had a four hour argument with himself over what to do. They all clearly had favorites and issues and unless they worked together it was clear they would not get to enjoy those things they loved. The conversation went something like this:

Andrew: I want Defense. Period.
-pause-
Art: You maybe willing to trade?
Andrew: ...Possible. What did you have in mind?
Art: I want Charms. And Transfiguration if we can work something out.
Andrew: Maybe i I was also in charge of flying and you two didn't scream in my head like nancy-boys.
Adair: Main Ah hae history an' astronomy?
Andrew: -snorts- No one else wants them fool.
Art: Can we trade....time?
Adair: Yoo're thinkin' abit exercises, arenae ye.
Art: Yeah. You like Tai Chi and Andrew really liked flying. I want some run time in the mornings.
Andrew: Hmm. That could be managed. What if we trade amounts?
-longer pause-
Art: You mean...oh. That's really a good Andrew. Really.
Andrew: -sneers-Well it was my idea.
Adair: Ah want sketch time.
Andrew: You do all the notes for classes and it's a deal.
Adair: Deal.
Art: I want in on that too. Adair makes awesome notes.
Adair: -blushes- Um...cheers.
Art: What about interruptions?
Andrew: Like when Adair looses it?
Adair: -flushes embarrassed-
Art: Yeah, when anyone freaks or trys to keep someone out.
Andrew: Then the others must hold him back Together.
-long, drawn out pause-
Andrew: Fair is fair. You keep me in control during my time, I'll help you with yours.
Art: -hesitantly- Okay. Deal.
Adair: Yoo...Yoo're sidin' wi'...him?
Art: 'cause he's right. For this to work, we have to work together. As much as we might not like it.
Andrew: And you'll make mother happy.

And so they hammered out The Agreement whereas they would each have their favorite classes and their favorite extra curricular things as long as they didn't interrupt each other's stuff. If they did, the other two would take over and prevent the wrong one from getting what they wanted. Sure, certain issues such as paranoia, small spaces, and a personal view of another's body could cause disruptions to the schedule, but until they each battled their own private demons and conquered them, they wouldn't hold it against each other in this instance. And Adair got an extra two hours on weekends for his glass work, Art got two for his exercises, and even Andrew got his swimming and flying time (which the other two secretly fear, but tune out). In exchange or this, they all promised to try and control themselves and make this work so that they could all have equal time. The first few weeks were rough and they jiggled things a lot, but soon the rough patches became easier and by the time three months had passed, it was all routine and worked out. Adair keeps the schedule and they agree on any changes as a group, a quorum. The winter Christmas break brought surprised smiles to everyone in the family as their youngest acted calm and happy and eager to participate in everything that happened. Mom even had a few moments of happy tears when things went really well and she was so amazed.

The healer's were surprised as well with a patient who changed when they asked and did what they asked (although stuff was still concealed by Andrew and Adair naturally) and assumed they had finally hit upon something in the last round of medications. He was much more functional, although he still muttered to himself and twitched in the middle of a sentence. Art has discussed it amongst his-selves and they had concluded if there was not a sign of some kind of improvement, they might have him removed from the school, something they could not stand the idea of now that things were working for once. It was, however a huge improvement and they were delighted. They set up a continuous order for potions to be shipped to Hogwarts (a level teaspoon every day was the prescription) and released him from the frequent visits and set up a six month appointment system, relieving many of the family fears. They had no idea that or most of the year, Art had been pouring out one level teaspoon each day and turning the spoon out over the open window. The fact that said potion has been sinking into a young sapling's roots (stretched out for water seeking) and began to change it's color and nature slightly was something no one had noticed except the Groundskeeper who was mystified as why one of his trees was turning rosy-colored.

The first year ended on a high note, despite the fact he was not allowed to do many things in certain classes. He was quickly discovering that in potions and herbology he had a major disadvantage with living things. Potions fizzled, became patterns (the plaid one is still spoken of in hushed tones), and exploded, never doing what they were supposed to do even when it was observed by the potion's master that he did everything perfectly. In the greenhouse, plants withered when he cared for them or reacted badly, striking or trying to get away (in the case of the few moving ones). It was an interesting issue and one the teacher's were curious enough about to keep letting him try, at least. These trys never lasted long before they stopped him and set him to helping students with inanimate materials which always worked well or him. And Charms became a very excellent class with huge results from his every attempt, most amusing to the class and fairly intriguing to the teachers as well. At the end of his first year his parents gifted him with a new broom as a reward for his progress and he had the best summer of his life, a joyful reward indeed or having master a very difficult issue inside himself.

His second year was also successful and he gained more friends (at least Art did) in his year and in others. Each new person found the different personalities both interesting and easy to deal with in different ways once you got used to the oddity of it. This year the professor's (both Potions and Herbology) had him working more as an assistant, helping with the different preparations, class role taking, and cleaning up since letting him make things often turned disastrous. His test scores and knowledge of the potions and herbology subjects were excellent and above average, but his talents obviously refused to give him an even break. Secretly the potions master thought about the possibility of finding new potions using this un-talent of his, but reluctantly decided it was too dangerous. The plaid potion, after all, had been taken away and sealed in his office since it's know effects were a complete mystery. One significant thing that happen this year about halfway thru was during one of his practices on a broom when some students spotted him and stopped, seeing moves which they had not heard of. One of them later passed on word to the house Quidditch Captain who eventually later in the year saw his moves and decided the boy had more then just some good skills, but some really interesting moves. Contemplating trying him out as a beater or a chaser became a thought to keep in mind or next year...

As a reward, once again he felt it was partly a reward for surviving another year, he was awarded a pet which was both delightful and terrifying, given his past experience with animals. However, this one's skin glowed in the dark as well as absorbed sun and air during the day (much like chlorophyll in plants) and the frog apparently thrives on neglect. The few worms he has remembered to feed the frog he calls 'Lomdom' buried themselves deeply and are enjoying the terrarium with great success. He rarely ever takes Lomdom out as he seems to like being left alone to sun in his water bowl and often piddles on others who try to hold him. Still, it is a successful living creature which gives Art hope he might someday manage something else. What will next year bring for this boy who is such a contradiction in life? Three minds in one body, soon he will hit puberty and with the different interests of Art, Adair, and Andrew, dating at Hogwarts may never be the same...

the sample post

Now this is not required or me since this will be my fifth character, but since this is a complex character, i wanted to give a sense of how he roleplays to show how it would be done in my opinion. Feel free to laugh :D

Art - Andrew - Adair

Driver of the Body Currently

------------

"...and wormwood. Stir three times either direction an a glass container," said the Professor holding up the vial as the bell or class switching rang. Over the noise of bags being grabbed and notes scribbled quickly, the professor said loudly "Tonight, do eight inches of scroll on belladonna potions and their effects as related to the ingredients." The groans of the students could be heard as Andrew scribbled final shorthand to another voice. ('S3 glass. H=8"bella P. Eff,') To which he answered "Fine," scribbled it down and added "Over to you Art," and stepped out even as Art responded ('Got it.') Art slipped into control, as they called it the 'driver's seat,' and tapped the button with his wand so it would change to his name. Andrew often thought he was too special to have to do the in-between rooms walking and left it to the others, but Art didn't mind at all. It gave him a chance to look around a lot. He grabbed books and swept them into their bag and got up, moving quickly through the dungeons to the stairs. He dodged students going in both directions, jumped an attempt to trip him and dashed up one of the Hogwarts' staircases at random which put him out a floor to high. Sighing with exasperation, he turned, looked, and saw an opening and dashed down another staircase and barely missed running into a startled sixth year before he jumped off onto his floor just in time.

Followed by curses, he started down the hall, passing a gossipy fifth year he had run across before. ('Bitch,') he heard as he passed then ('Cow.') "Well she has nice ankles," Art said as he let the girl and her friend's behind merrily chattering away. ('Fine. Cow in pink sandals. Happy?') to the sound of Adair's chuckle in the background. Art smiled to himself and spotted a house mate as he walked down the hallway towards the Library or his study break. "Hey Isabel!" and changed to head her way. She looked up, glanced involuntarily down at the button, and right back up (knowing already by his greeting it was Art) and said "Hey Art, you ready for Charms?" as she fell into step beside him without a pause. "I heard we might be getting papers assigned today," she said as they walked, knowing he would be interested. ('Insufferable Prat,') he heard but said "Really? Cool! You need a partner?" She responded shyly, saying "Sure! If you really want to..." and held out her hand. Without a thought, Art took it seeing no meaning in it but heard ('Ew') as Adair tuned out quickly. Art listened to her talk about their last class together as they walked, running his thumb over the back of her hand and enjoying the feel of her skin, imagining it's texture and spring-a-bility back to shape. ('Oh just do her already,') he heard and said "Hang on, Isa. Andrew, shut up."

He gave her an embarrassed smile as she smiled ('Oh? Did we grow balls? I hadn't noticed...') and said "Is he being a prig again?" to which he nodded. She looked him right in the eye with a charming smile and said "Hi Andrew, fuck you Andrew," and smiled at Art as she recaptured his hand. ('You wish') Art watched her mouth as she cheerfully turned back to talking, admiring the way she flexed it and suddenly was curious about something. They entered the Library and as they passed by the desk of the Librarian, Art said "Isabel, can I touch your lip?" he asked, holding his hand up slightly towards her face. She faltered in speaking for a second and said "Well, why? I mean, go ahead, Art." Andrew mentally rolled his eyes. He reached up his fingers to her lip and ran a finger across her bottom lip at the same time he did one on his. He didn't see the expression on her ace, busy comparing at the moment. Adair tuned back in, said ('Ick,') and tuned back out. "Just wondered if you could feel a difference," he said, wondering about the textures and what purpose they served.

Isabel cocked her head at him and smiled. "Well, I know you, Art. I'm an easy-" ('slut') "-going person about it. Guess I've gotten used to you all." She laughed and tweaked his nose slightly and added "Even Andrew, you old fuckhead." Art laughed at her, glad she could put up with them so well. "I won't tell you what he said," he said and heard ('Oh the hell with this shit,') and then Andrew turned out as well. "S'okay, I can imagine it was dirty. He usually is," as she held her hand back out and recaptured his before leading him across the room again. He noticed almost immediately how her fingers it so well between his and was about to hold up their hands so he could see if his hand was bigger when he heard Adair come back. ('Och yay, th' library! Okay Art, we need fower books. Lit me ken when yoo're ready tae gang lookin'...oi! There's Fredrick! Teel heem sex o'clock!') to which Art responded "Hang on Isa. Hey Fredrick! 6 pm Adair? Here?" and got a nod and thumbs up from him and a 'Shhhh!' from the Librarian's assistant shelving nearby.

Art, blushing slightly at the reprimand let Isabel guide him to a back table where they slung their bags as she walked of first to get her stuff while he held the table and watched his hips as she walked, seeing the play of her legs from behind. ('Please swatch somewhaur else.') He blushed again, knowing he was being rude from most people's interpretations; after all, Isabel was a friend and a House mate. She was one of the few who really accepted him, although for what reasons he didn't know. She put up with his oddities and liked Adair and even teased Andrew. He just couldn't stop himself from looking, fascinated by the way her body and other's worked. Hell, he watched the boy's in the House as well, but girls were so much better at hiding themselves they remained a big mystery in so many ways. She returned during his musings and he went into the shelves, missing the way she watched him walk as well. Once in the shelves, he said "Okay, Adair, here you go," and slipped out while the other stepped into the seat. If one had watched, you could almost see the smile grow wider and the eyes opened into Adair's more cheerful normal face.

Adair went and found the four books he needed and turned and headed back to the table, stopping short as he saw the girl who he had forgotten about. She glanced up when she saw him stop out of the corner of her eye and seeing his apprehension she said "Art-- no wait, Adair? I don't bite," and motioned at the chair across from her. "Actually, I wondered if I could borrow your history notes a moment? I think I missed something in mine and wanted to check yours against mine." Relieved, Adair sat down and dug out the notebook and handed it over. For ten minutes they worked on homework and notes before she handed it back saying "Thanks, knew I missed something. It's so much easier to look it up with you." The went back to studying in companionable silence for nearly twenty minutes. Adair had to admit she was a bright girl. He had heard her answers in class and thought she sounded on the ball. She was certainly smart enough to figure out he liked silence and was uncomfortable around most people. She had even stopped wearing the horrible black and orange outfit she had on the other day when he told her it brought out the color in her face too much.

In fact, a few girls had been asking his opinion on clothes and matching and actually listened to his words. Those girls he respected, but then again, Fredrick was a book nerd like him. And guys were so much simpler then girls who were emotional, erratic, and so unsure of themselves all the time. Guys were...well...guys. Simple. "Hey Adair?" Startled from his thoughts he glanced up at her and said "Um...yeah?" "Tell Art, I just remembered I was going to meet Patty back at the dorm before class and I forgot when I saw him. Okay?" ('Yeah no problem. I'll see her there.') "He says sure, he'll see ye in Charms." he said in response and she put a hand on his arm. "Thanks, Adair. Talk to you again sometime!" and then she left. Adair watched her go, looked down at his arm where she had touched him and said "Burds." ('Ah, gods above, I hope you never experience puberty, dear Adair.') Rolling his eyes, Adair retorted "Och jist haud yer weesht, Andrew."

Art

Art means 'bear' or 'champion

[image]

the personality
likes ;

Healing The idea of healing really gets to Art. Watching it happen, seeing the flesh and bone 'knit' back together is endlessly fascinating. The idea that he can do that without magic is also cool. When someone else makes a salve or a potion and lets him apply it, he's about as close to nirvana as he can get. The fact that no one will let him actually try a healing spell is due to the fact most assume it will go horribly wrong. He doesn't have to hate the fact they are right.

Exercising Exercise is great and he loves to run and climb like any boy does, but there is something about his bean-pole body that makes him want to make serious changes. So in his dorm in his trunk he has a set of adjustable weights which he started using this summer and which he loves. Every chance he has he likes to work his arms on them, hoping to get some muscles to ill out his frame. He also runs a lot and is always looking for chances to push his body to improve.

Negotiating For some reason helping others work things out is really a good feeling. Whether it's just because he stopped a fight or made people see they had common ground, he doesn't know. He certainly has the experience in the past, with the fighting and feuding between the other two who are such polar opposites. And maybe this is what gives him the edge; he sits on the fence on most topics and discussions, seeing the good of both sides.

Smarts Not as in intelligent, although he is. It's more a matter of common sense and using his noggin not for school work but more for knowing when to open his mouth and when not to. Maybe it's from a lifetime of listening to other thoughts that were not his own, but this is the kid who stops before opening a door in a haunted house and listens first. Most people like having him around because he doesn't open his mouth to speak until he has something to say and people have learned to listen.

Mushrooms He finds the mushroom kingdom to be fascinating. Not only used for food, but healing and muggles have figured out thousands of ways to use them. They are nearly responsible for life on earth continuing and Art has become an avid fan. While he hasn't started keeping cowpies in his bedroom under the bed to grow them, his mother has had a struggle keeping him out of barns and manure piles. He does have a vast amount of knowledge about them though and keeps reading everything he can about them.

dislikes ;

Hurrying Art hates having to go fast. He prefers to think about things, working his way thorough the possibilities before making big decisions. Speed is not his thing and he HATES traveling by broomstick as everyone wants to go shooting through the sky. Running between classes is bad enough, this boy will always chose the longest path to enjoy the quiet time for using his noggin.

Fighting While not a pacifist, he has seriously considered it before. Fighting is something he hates, dueling is just stupid, and why can't everyone just leave each other the hell alone?? Defending oneself, well, that's a different thing but he would rather be at a pint where he doesn't have anyone who feels they have to attack him. And that's where the negotiation skills come into play.

Leading Art doesn't like it when people push him to the front. He's quite comfortable following other's leads as long as they give him a chance to make his opinion known. He doesn't care to be in the front or call attention to himself and wishes others wouldn't call attention to him either. Leaders, as he well knows, are targets. Targets are what people vent their frustrations and revenges on.

Fear of Heights This is something he really has an issue with, especially when a certain someone is on a broom. At times like those all he can do is tune out and stay out of contact until later since he really can't deal with it. Dizziness, panic, and scrambling for anything to grab is more his style. He can hardly wait until he can apperate everywhere and never have to deal with brooms again. Unfortunately he knows how much Andrew love it and that sets his teeth on edge. He can think of much pleasanter ways to die.

Anger 'Anger is a weapon only to ones opponent.' He heard Adiar's teacher say that once and it did stick. Anger is an emotion he rarely feels and is usually cause by someone else causing issues in a situation, most often on the verge of fighting. Being angry clouds the mind to reason and while he doesn't have the mind set to be a martial artist, he does often feel like meditating on this truth. Avoiding people being angry, especially at him, is highly important in his life.

strengths ;

Centered Art is a solid person. In a roomful of people when someone panics and looks around for help they automatically settle on him. He always looks the most 'with it' person in a crowd and teachers also pick him out or that reason. Confident and comfortable with himself, he moves through life with his energy under control and his mind at ease. He handles emergencies like a pro.

Good Instincts Long ago, he learned to listen to his first thoughts, his instinctive reactions. For him, they always seem to be on the ball. Whether at the last second, or just the instinctive duck when someone comes around with a water balloon, he always appears to be quick and on his toes when really he just follows what his inner sense tells him to do. They have helped him through games, dealing with his brothers in mind, and a few emergencies in classes as well. He can only hope everything keeps going well.

Patience Art knows the value of waiting and is content to sit still. He has been known to work a problem through in his mind or hours while his brothers run the body until he figures out the best moves to do. Sitting and waiting for fish on the banks near his home taught him that waiting is often the only way and you still have to be alert for the right moment, so he can sit still for an hour easily. And since all things come to those who wait, he feels confident that every thing will work out in the end.

weaknesses ;

New Changes When things change, Art is caught off guard. Since he prefers life slow and methodical, when people upset the cart it takes him a bit to catch up. Because of this, Art will sometimes just pass the body to another while he tries to make sense o new issues and new situations which can take awhile. So while his instinct are good, it tends to work better for physical situations now big changes which effect a lot of things.

Strong Smells He adores strong smells; musky, sweet, earthy, you name it and it probably distracts him quite a lot. Stopping to enjoy the roses is something he does literally, taking in every minute of joy his nose brings him which is a major issue when studying or going to classes sometimes, especially when a pretty-smelling girl crosses his path. He has been led astray several times.

Bodies Art suffers from body fascination. This means that he is a touchy feely guy because he is fascinated by the way people's bodies react and grow, leading him to want to do everything from touching a girl's hair in front of him in class, to watching people make out in dark corners. While not a voyeur in truth, it comes across that way to many older students who mistrust him now. His first girlfriend will probably end up slapping him across the room the first time he gets to kiss one.

boggart ; Paralyzation which would trap him in the mind with only his brothers for company. This would probably drive him mad and the way his brother lies, it seems more likely everyday.
amortentia ; Fresh grass cuttings, newly baled hay, sauteed mushrooms
erised ; Triplets instead of one body to stop the constant bickering
veritaserum ; One time on the street he found a bag and popped it in his pocket (his brothers were in an argument and were not paying attention) and later opened it when he remembered it and found it full of very pretty gems. Embarrassed, he hid them under a floorboard in his room and has never mentioned them to anyone else, including his brothers, burying the memory deep. (It's actually a bag of paste gems, but he doesn't know this and eels guilty anyway.)
dementor ; One of the times at the Healer's getting examined (trying to find a potion to make his brothers become less 'real') he got into a major argument trying to separate them and began loudly trying to get their attention. It was a few minutes before he realized he had been nearly shouting and the Healer's face was bad, but his mother's was one of desperation and a touch of true fear. The disappointment in her eyes and the tears of frustration he heard later were enough to embarrass him worst then he can ever remember. A week later it was their first day at Hogwarts.
patronus ; A summer day with his hands deep in the dirt, planting his first strawberry. It was a joy he long held inside him like a bubble and kept him happy even through the later weeks when the plant withered and died. A Sumatran Orangutan is his patronus.

personality ;
Art is the one who heals, the one who keeps the other two apart and on even terms. While just barely a bit more dominant then the other two, it's mostly because he has been proven right often enough that not so they tend to listen more in internal arguments. The healer's have had a lot of debates on whether Art is the original personality or not and they are divided on the subject (and they are in fact wrong, technically). In any case, he is the peacemaker in the trio and since reaching Hogwarts has been the holder of the schedule they agreed on. While his skills with living things far below the classroom average, he can quote all the relevant facts. Unfortunately, most classes have half the grades on being able to successfully cast the spells. And while the teachers watch him try, it's obvious that he does it right and the spells just go haywire. Not just spells either as plants wither under his care and animals tend to flee or leave. The frog is the first pet he's been able to keep or more then a few weeks and he wonders why. He never tries to do bad things, but it happens. And when he ignores the frog's needs, it seems to thrive. For a lot of reasons, this bothers him.

And then there are his beloved mushrooms. Whether eating, studying, or watching, this is rapidly turning into a life-long interest. Back home, there are two whole shelves devoted to mushrooms studies, book that are dry to anyone else but him. He dreams of finding new uses for them all and continues to work with them wherever he finds them. He also has spent some time learning from the House Elves how to do the basics in cooking mainly so he can learn to use the mushrooms he finds. Identifying them and using them, he plans to surprise his mother this summer with his new skills and try to prove to her he can improve himself. Despite his condition. Also the chief one interested in health, he takes very good care of himself, knowing the others do not really (except for when Andrew is swimming) and he wants to have the advantage when he gets older. While not a jock, as he doesn't give a fig about any sport, he does try and stay healthy and clean. This seems to help a lot with attracting girls' attention and it's something he is very interested in. Boys he has access to in the dorms, at least for viewing and watching; girls are far more elusive (Art is definitely Bi, although he has not discovered the interest in sex yet). Besides, there are only so many fart jokes you can listen to before you're ready for something more pleasant.

When it comes to relationships, to guys he seems more male and girls pick up on his feminine nature. He is a perfect, or nearly perfect, balance in most things being rarely extreme about anything in truth besides his addiction to other people's bodies. He is a healer without the healing abilities, a jock without the games interest, a dedicated mushroom studier without the green thumb, and a voyeur without the sexual interest. He has far more friends being the most normal of the three personalities and the easiest to like as well.

Andrew

[image]

Means 'Manly and Courageous'

the personality
likes ;

Swimming Andrew loves swimming, adores it even. Gliding through the water without magic and darting like an otter, he lives for his own mastery of the element, being in the water often more then out during the summers. His own control is important to him and he taunts the water as if it was a creature, daring it to try and stop him. If he was on a high school swim team, he would have a chest full of medals by now. He put the muggle school time his parents offered to good use in that, taking all classes he could in the sport and knows all the moves.

Flying Andrew loves flying, but not in the same way he enjoys swimming. He loves the movements and challenges of fast flying and darts obstacles. Being able to circle a tree without hitting branches, corner the school with only inches off the corners, and racing bludgers on the field by himself; these are all challenges he loves. He plays Quidditch and feels truly alive dodging, soaring, and zipping in and out of everything and everybody performing maneuvers few dare to duplicate. Several people in his house have an eye out for his private practices on the fields and the Team Leader has been interested in trying to get him on the team at some point in the future to see what he becomes some day. Seeker, Chaser, or even beater he wouldn't care; to fly is to live.

Sound For some reason, Andrew listens to the world far more then others. From rooms, to classes, to sleeping people and forest sounds, he pays attention to little details. When you speak to him you know he's following every word and each teacher knows to call on him when they want the right answer. Passing by nature sounds (particularly running water) is amazingly distracting to him; the sounds alone are fascinating and more beautiful then any music man might inferiorily make. Thus, those who make music he detests, but the instruments themselves can be wonderful.

Silver All metals pale in comparison for Andrew. Silver is perfect, beautiful, and requires your attention to keep it beautiful. No metal is as valuable in his eyes, nor goes well with any color, unlike gold or copper. For this reason he finds it hard to resist things which are silver, yearning to caress them and polish them by hand, one of the only times he will resort to muggle methods because of the pure contact. One o the fastest ways to his heart and a true way to see his emotions, is to git him with some, especially small pieces of jewelry or crafted items.

Water More then just or swimming, he believes it to be totally unappreciated. From listening to the stream that feeds the black lake to sitting in a tub for hours, to him it is a magical thing, the life giver or all things. Sometimes his love of sound combines with this as he rearranges each stone to make a different total sound. Water, the great giver of life is also the great destroyer, slowly working away at rocks, cliffs, mountains, and the world, reforming it over time in it's own way. In this way he never stops being fascinated with water, anywhere and time.

dislikes ;

Misused Tools People who use others often do it clumsily and ineffectively, often rendering that person, or tool, unusable again. Stupid use of others this way annoys and bothers Andrew. Each tool should be careful used, rewarded (at least what they think is a reward) and come away with a positive memory so they can be used again. Besides, isn't that what lesser creatures are for? And you have to care for tools as well when you want them to last; that has different procedures for each one. He has nothing but disdain or people who screw this up.

Being without Magic Accepting his parents invite to attend school as a muggle, Andrew wanted to see the lesser folks, to understand what he was up against. Being there meant doing things without magic; very challenging. He learned tons, especially that he would never live that way and he despises even more now those who choose that life and are raised that way. Muggles know no better, so they are excused, but mud-bloods and the muggleborn could have been trained at a lesser school somewhere to be good tools and be a positive influence instead o the drain on society which they are.

Obviousness He has seen it hundreds of times at Hogwarts. People who manipulate others and are not subtle about it are disgusting and unskilled oafs. A true master of the art is never detected and most of those he has seen so are disgustingly obvious about it. He hates those who poison the ground before he has a chance to sow his own seeds.

Being Controlled One of the few things he holds against his parents is the fact that he is basically at their control until he comes of age. He disagrees with societies standard gift of full power to others. Hogwarts has a great deal of power over him as well and he resents it and refuses to ever give himself over to another. If he enters a relationship, it will be on his terms and not slaved to another as in his brothers-in-mind.

What's in the Water As much as he loves water and swimming, he is also terrified of what is in it, but will not admit it to anyone else. Unlike most people though he refuses to let his fears control him and he lashes out by preparing heavily and going swimming, ready to unleash an onslaught against those that interfere with him. In that way he challenges his fear and hopes to eventually get rid of it entirely.

strengths ;

Manipulation/Altering To adjust things ever so slightly in others or objects, enough for people to get used to it and forget that things were ever another way, that is his true skill. In his short practice of it against others, he has managed to adjust a lot of his house into accepting him as safe, something most discover fairly early on is not very true. Despite being only thirteen, he has gained already a fairly good skill in subtle working (having brothers in your head makes a great deal of difference with what you can get away with).

Flying Flying has proven to be a great success in a short time. A natural at dodging, Andrew can wind his way through nearly any set of obstacles, deftly and in a very short time. He has worked out methods and tricks on a broom which catch people off guard when they first see it and someday may earn him his name on a new quidditch move. It's fairly obvious to most people that although he is not on a team yet, he probably soon will be.

Escape Artist Funnily enough, he learned this one in muggle school. Often, being the oddball, he got trapped in bathrooms, locked in closets, and pinned by bullies he wasn't allowed to use magic on. Escaping, slipping, and picking locks became skills he found he had the right mind for somehow and they come easily for him. Practicing the skill, as he could see real merit in it when dealing with wizarding kind, means working at muggle skills so he does it in secret, careful to arrange things so that others do not learn of his skill. He's not Houdini, but he can get out of things other's think of as solid. As long as he keeps working on it he'll get better someday.

weaknesses ;

Patterns Recognizing patterns in life (like birds calls meaning different things or the way a teacher assigns work) will always draw him into analyzing them. It is an attempt to get ahead, to finish off work earlier by spotting the tricks and thus work less in the long run. He started it as a child and now it has become second nature to spot them and find the hidden advantages / meanings. Even when there are none, there is. Get it? ;)

Concealing Information Keeping people from gaining useful knowledge, well, that's second nature now. The healer's find this the most difficult thing about Andrew. He delights in keeping his reactions slight, hiding information others could use for anything; doesn't matter if it's against him or not. Even stuff that doesn't mean a thing to him at all, he will hide. He simply cant's go against his nature.

Paranoia Andrew is absolutely convinced that his family is against him. Only his mother and head-brothers are not involved and he suspects especially that one of his blood siblings has alerted the Death Eaters that he is a target they are free to make an example of. It's not in any way logical or even possible, but that doesn't matter. He is convinced. Thus, checking his back, watching out for others, casting to protect himself is all very logically necessary.

boggart ; Enslavement by anyone, especially himself.
amortentia ; Sea air, cinnamon toast
erised ; To be triplets instead of one so I can blow this Popsicle stand
veritaserum ; Watching the death of a muggle from a rooftop onto the pavement and watching the panic recede into death in his eyes. It was both interesting and disturbing that death should be so easy.
dementor ; One of the times at the Healer's getting examined (trying to find a potion to make his brothers become less 'real') he got into a major argument trying to convince them and began arguing the point. It was a few minutes before he realized Art had been nearly shouting and the Healer's face was a mix of frustration and exasperation. But his mother's was one of desperation and a touch of true fear. The disappointment in her eyes and the tears of frustration he heard later were enough to embarrass him worst then he can ever remember. A week later it was their first day at Hogwarts. She is the only person he does not want to ever see hurt.
patronus ; The day he first convinced the muggle girl down the street to surrender her change jar to him willingly and realized what power he could truly have. A Blue Ringed Octopus.

personality ;
Andrew is the sly one, looking for the advantage and taking it in ways that are hard to spot. He is sly because he believes he is under watch, being checked for behavior and possible removal. The arguments with the others have gotten worse about this recently due to several unexplainable incidents which in reality were nothing but true accidents. This has increased their tension recently, enough to make things rough in class for the time being. Most of the healers find hm frustrating to deal with and he enjoys that.

He is the antagonist in most issues, often wanting to do things the others dislike like flying or going swimming when it's cold out. He likes the challenge of it, only stopping when it starts to ice up. Flying is his way of showing off his smarts and superiority, much as is his subtle manipulation of others without their knowledge. He is also the one most interested in details; tailoring, the rub of cloth, the shine of silver, and a ripple of sound. The depths of his emotions are huge, but he keeps them locked away, feeling without expressing and releasing it in tensions used against nature (i.e. swimming). Andrew is not interested in love, although he feels it. His mother is the only person he adores, but he can't bring himself to let her know how much he does and that both suits him and hurts him. He is the tough guy, the clever one, the reserved one and he likes the mantle he has made for himself. Let others follow the normal ways, he prefers to be unique and explore the less-traveled path.

He is the one who pays the most attention in the healer's sessions, even if he doesn't help much at all. He knows they are trying to get rid of him in particular and pays attention to what he can. It is disheartening to know others don't like you and want to kill you but are being nice about it. He's certainly not stupid enough to think otherwise and this knowledge has made his paranoia far more then it used to be. Despite their efforts, he only trusts his mother. Andrew is straight and certainly hasn't discovered sex yet, nor does he want to lower himself to other's levels. Having a girl under his control would be handy and he will certainly consider that sometime, but he's not going to give away his interest either. Friendships are hard or Andrew in many ways and for that he is jealous of his mental bro Art who draws them easily.

After all, it can't be his looks.

Andrew is an elitist who loves silver, well crafted pieces, and fine details. He enjoys feeling superior and knows better then to display it or others to see. In a way he feels like a craftsman when he works on people, slowly altering the way they look at the world and making them more usable tools for the future. He conflicts with his brothers daily, although for his mother's sake he makes an effort to try and get along some. The new idea of sharing control is actually something he thought would never work, but he's pleased that it works better then he would have thought and the others don't envy him his time spent. He will, however, be a fairly easy target for anyone who tries seduction and polishes his ego.

Adair

[image]

Adair means 'A Wealthy Spear'

the personality
likes ;

Tai Chi Sword Style Adair has been studying tai chi for five years now and only last year was given teachings in the sword due to his very good advancement and apparent skill. His teacher is very tickled with his student (although as a muggle doesn't know there is a magic side to things) and encourages him to continue his practice at school. Adair loves the centering and deep feeling of contentment he feels afterward which is great for his creative side. Secretly both of his brothers enjoy the feeling as well and thus never mention or poke fun at this extremely organized side of Adair's mind. Note: Tai chi is an art which concentrates on avoiding and blocking all of an opponents blows and staying extremely flexible. The sword is used as a blocking weapon and as par of the graceful movements. Rarely will there be a move which involves striking another and Adair won't use those. Here is a sample to clear up the confusion.

Stained Glass A few years before Hogwarts, Adair discovered glass blowing quickly followed by stained glass. A local muggle near his home takes in students and Adair begged his family for a chance spending two years in an apprenticeship spot (not blowing, but helping with window assembly) before school started. It was hard to manage when he was having arguments with his mental brothers, but he adores the skill and wants to do it more. Making artful pictures with the stained glass is a new thing he started doing this summer. For the first two years he sketched possible windows all the time so has an excellent grasp on fitting thing together; now he has a large supply of premade scraps he bought to see what he could make.

Light Art He has fallen in love with this art, making pictures with light through stained glass and he works hard at developing this skill quickly being lost in the muggle world. He is equally curious if one day he can get enough skill to make moving ones. The other two have quickly agreed to give him more time to do it in exchange for his writing up their notes from classes since neither have as good a notes as Adair does. Give him an hour of glass assembly and he's happy for a week. Giving him four hours on the weekends has become nirvana for him.

Color Complementing He has a natural eye for colors and patterns which work together so, unlike his brothers, he layers his clothing, fills the closet with a rainbow of things, and is popular with the girls for his significant talent. Unfortunately, he doesn't care what colors mean to others, so sees no harm in wearing pink, a color which bothers his roommates a lot. He doesn't really stick to house colors much (just because he likes a good variety), but he does like blue a lot, especially a light blue to bring out his eyes. Andrew always wants silver so almost all his extras are silver or silver colored.

Extreme Notes Adair likes notes. He thinks that with notes there should be no need for further study so his notes fill notebooks in a week. They cover nearly every angle possible and take days to create. Tabbed, color coded, highlighted, footnoted, referenced, you name it. Some of the professors have talked in the teacher's lounge of having them bound and added to the library when he graduates. Ravenclaws lust over his notebooks. Next year if the trend continues, his mother is going to talk to him about havng them bound and maybe a few other copies made, one or the Ravenclaw dorm in particular.

dislikes ;

Confrontation Adair hates confrontations and works to avoid them whenever possible. In fact, he places a high effort on getting out of situations and avoiding those who start them. If he could avoid Andrew he would, and he hates how he manages wind up in other people's business. If he could avoid getting into other people's lives, he would be safer. When he panics, he retreats with no warning, often forcing another into his spot and sometimes into uncomfortable situations. Andrew makes as much entertainment out of these times as possible.

Claustrophobia Small places make him freak. Literally. From fits, to full-blown panic, Adair has very deep fears of small places to the point of catatonic behavior when exposed too long to it. His dreams have been filled as a child with a fear of being buried alive or locked away every since two things happened: seeing a muggle neighbor buried and the beginning of the Healer's attempts to fix Art who they think is the original. He is deathly afraid they will get rid of him and he'll be locked away from the light. This terror is possibly the most debilitating of the issues the persona Art deals with.

Crowds Any number over six is too many and while classes make him a tad nervous, all he has to do is remember what the others experience to make notes later. He can't explain why, but a group of people will always make him retreat into himself leaving the body to another. Maybe it's the attention, or maybe it's a sign he will make an awesome eclectic hermit when he's older. Even being surrounded by his house will keep him out and in control; it's just too much.

Singled Out Because of his fear of crowds, being singled out in front of others is even more terrifying. While he likes praise as well as anyone, he prefers to have it with out anyone else around. Although he can not explain why, much to the annoyance of the healer's, he can't take it. This is the major reason he has not tried to let anyone known about his suspicion he is the original and probably never will. If it was a boy who he liked, that would be like nuclear embarrassment, especially as Adair would never admit to such a thing first.

People who correct him While teachers and parents he can't stop, people his own age or at least near really bother him when they do this. Whether it's art, speech, or even behavior, correct him and you sound like you are being Andrew: Superior Snubbing. Generally this will get his hackles up and he'll be bailing on the conversation shortly. Avoiding you in the future is highly likely. There are unfortunately quite a few Slytherins who have triggered this and they enjoy using it to bug him.

strengths ;

Creativity Adair has remarkable creativity levels, especially right after a session of tai chi practice. Something about the nearly meditative movements and forms opens up his inner connections and help everything to work together in concert. This makes his art work nearly twice as good as someone his age and well worth a look, despite the fact that he melts into his chair if anyone starts complimenting him on them. He has not yet begun to plumb the levels in this he actually has so this will increase a lot in the future.

Balance Adair has really good balance which has developed mostly due to his work at Tai Chi. This, in turn, has helped his brothers in their own physical pursuits. The key, though, was in Adair's personality which was able to tap his inner strength or calm. Without that, he would not be able to walk a rope naturally like he can. It is surprising to see him do it (once between two banks of a river and only his brothers present) since he hates being singled out, so he does not use this ability to it's fullest. Andrew in particular chooses only this one thing to praise him on quietly, mainly cause he's selfish and believes it will help his escape artist skills when he gets older.

Veela Charm If, and when, he ever desperately needs it Adair apparently controls the Veela connection in the body, allowing him to use their fascination. Although he wouldn't use it in a wrong way (knowingly), he has used it twice to escape bullies a the muggle school he attended for awhile (or which he got in trouble for of course). He has only used it once and since that was self defense, it's logical to assume it won't be used much in this lifetime making it all the more potent (since there would be no real warning). If he should ever fall in love, it would be very hard for him to resist using this ability to get the attention of one special person. In addition, he actually has a very good singing voice, although he is not so much a an of making music; that would, after all, immediately draw attention.

weaknesses ;

Color Bright colors (like jewel tone brights), or color from light itself, is immensely distracting to him. Losing his place or forgetting what he was saying is highly likely. Simply staring entranced is very common until something else grabs his attention. It's as if the artist inside of him find it so beautiful he can't look away. Wearing them, well, let's just say he wouldn't make it out of the dorm much so his brothers tend to avoid purchasing such things and his mom understand that.

Artsy Adair is very much the artist type, with little care for neatness in the room or his things (or his brothers things). Leaving behind messes while getting lost in artist's visions is something more then one House-mate has had to deal with. And while he dresses very completely (a give away to his artist side), he tends to wear things sloppily and keep to an artist's schedule (such as sketching out a window pattern in needles while he supposed to be practicing his transfiguration spells in class). This is a fairly common occurrence and an easy one or distractions in class.

Messy While his notes may be phenomenal, another house mate finding a line of clothes from his bed to the shower is normal. Bringing it up doesn't help; he's often designing something in his head or reviewing his class notes in his long term memory. He's simply not there and leaves messes in his wake without even trying. Art complains every day about this (being sick of cleaning up) but it doesn't sink in. Ever.

boggart ; Being buried Alive. Ever since he first saw a neighbor muggle's funeral and thought of it, his nightmares have been filled with it. While most people might think a boggart would be eternally puzzled by Art the persona, this fear shines out like a torch in the night (an important clue to the original personality).
amortentia ; lotus blossom, scroll paper, burning wax (seals)
erised ; To be triplets so he won't be held back anymore.
veritaserum ; He believes himself to be the original personality.
dementor ; One of the times at the Healer's getting examined he got into a major argument trying to defend himself and began arguing. His mother is one of the few women he actually feels really good around so he will do anything to take away his memory of disappointing her.
patronus ; Visiting a town church and seeing the beauty of the rose window up close in the noon day sun. A Scottish Common Kestrel

personality ; Adair is a reclusive, nearly hermit-like artist with a true fascination for glass working. He spends his free time when he can looking up relevant magic in the Hogwarts Library, determined to capture his heart in glass, his emotions in the colors. He wants to express what he feels unable, or fearful, to in a beautiful way which will make his mother smile and stop trying to get him locked away. To be an artist, would in effect be very freeing and something which would relieve this situation where he is trapped at the whims of two others. The healer's have been having a number of problems with him due to his wanting to avoid attention. If he told them his belief that he is the original one, it would make him more a target and he won't do that to himself, even if it means he gets locked away from the light (the idea of which makes him shudder).

As a hermit, Adair excels. His condition leaves him a target for most to be made fun of and means he tends to avoid friendships and few ever get to know him on a personal level besides bookish guys. Since the classes started his first year, and the agreement was made, things have been much easier or him, in particular for the classes which he enjoys. He still has issues, like the claustrophobia and his fears about attention that make the healer's believe him to be the personality with the most problems and nearly as hard to work with as Andrew. However, the potions they try out on the boy often lead to some great creativity in his glass work so it's not all bad. Surprisingly, Adair, despite all of these issues, is the one who smiles the most, a generally optimistic view of the world. It's one of his more charming moments and definitely the best smile of all of them.

Soon he will begin to hit puberty and will find himself in more emotional turmoil then ever. Being attracted to his roommates will both horrify him and also prove to him he's unique. Knowing his brothers have mixed feelings about sexuality as well then will make the situation easier. However the most startling thing about Adair, and far out of explaining from the Healer's who are bewildered by it, is that he has a heavy Scottish accent. Sometimes very hard to understand, it also might be a good explanation as to why he tends to not talk much in class.

ACCEPTED

"Well, now this is proving to be quite the task. To perform a sort like this I've never been asked. One moment it all seems so clear, the next it appears the end is never near," mused the Hat as it sat upon the blond boy's head. Quite a time passed, unlike any before. The hat finally understood at the sound of someone's snore. "Oh well fluff my brim, this I've never seen before. Three in one is why this sort is quite a chore. What an intriguing young man you are, or perhaps young men I should say. Nevertheless, I will finally conclude this sort this day. At times some may wonder, but I stand by what I saw. The likes of you will do best in Ravenclaw!"

Congratulations, Wes! Art(Andrew/Adair) proved to give the Hat quite the task at sorting. However, from what we've seen he'll be a hoot... or three... to see in play finally.
